General Information:

Liguria is counted as one of the nicest coasts in Europe, and is approximately one hour away from Milan. Between Genoa and France you will find the „RivieradeiFiori“ – the riviera of flowers, with sun, sea, beaches, mountains and culinary delights. Information on getting there by plane, train and automobile is to be found here.

Liguria unites the contrasts of sea and mountains in a beautiful landscape. This contrast offers the possibility for hiking and mountain biking in the mountains and kite surfing on the sea.

The excellent water quality of this holiday region is well known. On the Ligurian beaches in the Summer 13 blue flags are flying as a sign for both clean water and an environmentally friendly infrastructure.

Lovers of Italian food will be delighted with what they find in Liguria.Delicious pesto, freshly pressed olive oil, pickled olives, wine, sophisticated Antipasta, pasta, secondi, fish and game.

The "Riviera of Flowers" offers the ideal prerequisites for a successful self catering family holiday: sandy beaches, play grounds, supervised riding, water parks and go-kart tracks.

The "Riviera of Flowers" offers something for young and old. The aquarium and maritime museum in Genoa, Hanbury Gardens, Vele d`Epoca, golf, museums, Grotto of Toirano, churches, the artist village Busanna Vecchia, markets, formula 1 in Monaco, the Film festival in Cannes, fireworks world championships in San Remo, whale watching, Monte Carlo rally, boat trips, wine harvest in Piemont, San Remo music festival, Monaco and San Remo casinos, dancing in Ligurian villages, giant discos

Arriving by plane:

In order to get from the airport to your holiday home, it is a good idea to rent a car. Most of the big car rental agencies are represented in Nice and Genoa (Avis, Hertz, Europcar). It is recommended to have your car booked in advance. You are then guaranteed a car, and in worst case scenario, you get a better one for the same price, as well as it being cheaper than renting on site.

Culture

Mountains and steep cliffs that rise loftily out of the Tyrrheanean Sea in the most northerly part of the Mediterranean. This is the fascinating landscape that will accompany and impress you on your journey through this historically rich and dynamic region. The capital Genoa, one of the most important ports in the Mediterranean and home to Christopher Columbus, was already in the middle ages a powerful maritime state.Today you wll find impressive buildings, elegant mansions and wonderful churches all of which bear witness to this glorious past and which blend in perfectly with the modern city. In the other provinces of Liguria (Imperia, La Spezia and Savona, two other important harbours) there are also numerous historical treasures. An intact and luxuriant Mediterranean vegetation can be found in the mountain regions of Portofino and Cinqueterre. On the other hand Portovenere is a small jewel on the Mediterranean coast. San Remo is one of Italy's most famous bathing resorts and the place where the annual Italian pop music festival takes place. The beautiful Benedict monastery S. Fruttuoso merits special attention. And needless to say there are many other important historical monuments to be explored
